Our Client, Urenco; trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for a Contract Work Co-Ordinator on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester. In this contract position, you will be required to provide supporting activities to the contracts works Coordinators when preparing to onboard external personnel to undertake works on behalf of UCP (which includes employees, ASW and contract workers)

Rate: £50-55 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

The role holder will be required to provide supporting activities to the contracts works Coordinators when preparing to onboard external personnel to undertake works on behalf of UCP (which includes employees, ASW and contract workers)
Preparation activities on a day to day basis is to ensure that all activities are executed in a safe, cost effective and reliable manner in line with legislative and Company procedures.
The role objective is to manage the front end on boarding process of external parties to allow the implementation of statutory, plant projects, modifications and repairs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Nuclear Site Licence conditions.
Key External stake holder engagement is to ensure complalaince with Safe Systems of Work and Security Arrangements are followed at all times when carrying out works on UCP.
In addition, the incumbent will be required to Support the SAP PM compliance works process, Lead the Contracts Co-ordinators Purchase requisitioning, Create and maintain Department Maintenance Plan Look ahead, provide Purchase requisitioning support for UCP Engineering.
The role holder shall work closely with the wider UCP team and will report directly to the UCP Turnaround Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections with sub-contractors
  • Incumbent must also be able to deal with conflict between programme and cost requirements. There will be a requirement to autonomously and robustly handle such challenges whilst maintaining high standards and operating in a pragmatic manner
  • Ensure work activity is planned in accordance with the relevant programme. Assisting with any dispute resolution, escalating any delay, concern on delivery to the area owner where necessary
  • Liaise with Turnaround Manager/Project Manager, Procurement Lead , regarding cost control, variations and confirmation of instructions
  • Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company’s Policy
  • Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams and neighbours as well as any other stakeholders
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to DAY to Day to enable traceability
  • Fulfil company CPD requirements undertaking all relevant training and development activities as required
  • Contribute to the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
  • Work with colleagues and managers to revise, update or develop working procedures
  • Carry out Radiological Protection Supervisor duties to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations
  • Production and implementation of contractor training renewal process
  • Provide support to assist the Turnaround Manager
  • Internal departmental assistance and look a heads
  • Assist the UCP Contractor department on delivering on their objectives including assisting the Turnaround Manager and maintenance team
  • Assist the Vendor application process to cover; security applications, liaising with security and appointment booking
  • Managing security and training databases
  • Raising PRs to support departmental requirements and Lead Focal Point for team
  • Procurement engagement when managing SLA’s
  • Ensure that contractors and their supervisors are monitored on an ongoing basis and that the contractor’s management take positive action to maintain health safety and environmental arrangements to the highest possible standard
  • Carry out Radiological Protection Supervisor duties to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations
