We’re currently looking for a talented Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager in Chester to join a reputable firm.

The successful candidate will oversee the provision of audits from planning to completion, as well as statutory accounts preparation, tax accounting and much more. You’ll have some supervisory experience and you’ll be a natural leader that people look up to. You’ll be keen to be involved in the training and development of a junior team and put your significant practice experience to great use.

JobPurpose
  • Work alongside senior leadership team to delivering high-quality audits for a varied portfolio
  • Oversight of workflow, allocation of work deadlines and team performance
  • Prepare tax computations, including tax returns, tax liabilities
  • Provide trusted advisory and strong technical tax knowledge
  • Work closely with senior team members, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are being met
  • Oversight of client bookkeeping, VAT provision, management accounting and financial statements
  • Liaise directly with clients, acting as their 'go-to’ person to exceed their expectations
  • Lead, manage and develop the team, acting as a role model for junior staff
  • Deliver training and champion knowledge sharing across the team

Job Requirements
  • ACCA or ACA qualified or QBE with preferably a minimum of three years’ post qualification experience
  • A proven track record of supervisory and managerial experience, as well as working with clients within practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Strong communication and advisory skills
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a team’s workflow
  • A team player and approachable leader who is able to bring out the best in others
  • Confidently mentor junior team members in a positive and constructive manner
