We’re looking for a Maintenance Planner. Based at our Capenhurst location, you’ll be responsible for producing Written Schemes of Maintenance that define a safe and efficient methodology for all maintenance tasks. This includes day-to-day routines, break down maintenance and major shutdown events. There will be a significant amount of interaction required between various departments within UCP and sitewide.

At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we're looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out site visits to determine job scope, appropriate method, timescale and resource requirements
  • Produce thorough Task Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safe and effective maintenance execution (UCP Written Schemes of Maintenance)
  • Understand a schedule and prioritise the generation of written schemes such they are available in a timely manner
  • Ensure validity of all maintenance tasks e.g. correct job sequence, manning levels, timescales etc.
  • Ensure the defined written schemes contain all of the information necessary for the Materials Coordinators to source all materials, Resource Coordinators to schedule requirements effectively and Maintenance Technicians to execute the task efficiently. Plant Labelling utilised or updated to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintain SAP Master Data, identifying and reporting anomalies or missing functional locations and equipment to SAP Master Data Stewards and ensuring Asset Data is up to date.

What do you need to thrive in this role?

  • Time-served mechanical or CEI technician with hands on experience in a chemical / process plant. Familiarity with the maintenance of typical process equipment (pumps, valves, vessels, piping systems, instrument and control systems).
  • Experience of planning maintenance activities using a CMMS / EAM package (preferably SAP with Prometheus)
  • Knowledge of scheduling maintenance tasks / projects in a Gantt chart format / CMMS
  • Proficient in Risk Assessment methodology and in writing work instructions / job plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise instructions.
