Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Chester-based pre-school as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced early years teaching assistant for a full-time permanent contract of 37 hours per week. This contract is spread over 4 days with the pre-school ideally looking for someone to commit to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 7:45am - 4:45pm, but they are negotiable with days.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting young learners between the ages of 2 - 5. You will work alongside the class teachers to offer a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment by utilising an array of learning equipment, tailoring lessons to suit pupils' needs, personalities and attainment needs, and building strong constructive relationships. You will support your pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis as to support their social and emotional development by introducing them to new pupils' groups and developing their fine motor skills. Other duties will include but may not be limited to guided reading, guided writing, observations, learn through play, phonics, and napping changes.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working within early years in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Be at least NVQ Level 2 or equivalent early years qualified
  • Have expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract
