Embedded Software Engineer with firmware experience required by an Electronic Engineering and Product Design consultancy based near Chester. This is a wonderful opportunity for a multi disciplined electronics software and firmware engineer to play with the latest technology and be given free reign to explore and innovate. On offer is a negotiable salary of up to around £65,000, and a great benefits package.


In this role, the Embedded Software Engineer will play a key role in leading projects designing and testing embedded software/firmware for electronics products, in particular AI- based audio and video solutions. Youll also contribute in varying degrees with the hardware product design too, depending on your experience. Youll create technical documentation and manuals, and work to high standards of safety and ethics.


Technical requirements for this Embedded Software Engineer position include a depth of experience with embedded C and C++ software development for electronics, HAL development, RTOS, an understanding, or at least an interest in, Edge AI and ML MCUs, processors and related techniques, Linux development tools, and testing tools are required too, as is experience of Integrated Circuits (mixed signal and wireless), modules, power managers and connectors.


Any wider experience such as high speed digital and low power analogue circuitry would also be very useful, as would wider software skills such as Python, JavaScript, SQLite, Node-Red, etc. In truth, the more the better.
