Title: Technical Specialist -LCMS/GCMS
Location: North West of England
Duration: Permanent
Our client is looking for a Technical Specialist within GCMS and LCMS techniques to join their expanding team in the North West of England.
Responsibilities:
- Lead method development and validation projects, from initiation to final documentation
- Lead investigations into client complaints and resolve issues
- Validate analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Manage and schedule instrument repairs and maintenance
- Monitor and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of analytical methods
- Conduct audits of methods as part of the UKAS 17025 accreditation program
- Troubleshoot analytical issues and apply problem-solving skills
- Possess expert knowledge of instrument software and its application
- Contribute to capital expenditure planning and needs
- Investigate and report non-conformities in work processes
- Minimize rework through continuous monitoring and improvement
- Identify team training needs in methods and procedures, ensuring ongoing competency
- Provide guidance and assistance on queried results
- Investigate staff deviations from procedures and implement corrective actions
- Review processes and offer advice to improve productivity
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies and company procedures
- Proactively identify and raise Health and Safety concerns
- Collaborate with the Team Leader to enhance safety, environment, and staff well-being
- Report any near-misses or incidents to the line manager
Requirements:
You will be a technical expert in LCMS and GCMS with experience in troubleshooting of the instrumentation.
- A BSc or equivalent in a scientific discipline
- Experience in method development -GCMS/LCMS
- GCMS/MS or LCMS/MS experience is advantageous
- In depth knowledge or analytical instrumentation techniques
- Previous experience in training others in GCMS and LCMS
- Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Experience in troubleshooting instruments
