The company is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Specifications Technologist to ensure that all product specifications are accurate, compliant, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements. The Role

As Specifications Technologist, you will:

• Create and update detailed product specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and food safety regulations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., production, quality assurance, and R&D) to gather product information and ensure specifications align with manufacturing processes.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to obtain necessary data and ensure specifications are fit for purpose.
• Ensure compliance with relevant food industry regulations and certifications such as BRC, HACCP, and FSSC.
• Manage the specification approval process, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of accurate documentation.
• Assist with the development of nutritional and ingredient labeling to meet legal and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot specification-related issues, providing solutions, and supporting continuous improvement efforts in specification processes.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer demands to ensure specifications remain current.

The Candidate

The successful Specifications Technologist will:

• Have retailer experience, preferably at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda or Morrisons.
