Shift Maintenance Engineer (Near Chester)

42k - 44k plus overtime

About the Role:

Join a leading packaging design and innovation company at their foodservice packaging site near Chester. We're looking for a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team and help keep our production machinery running smoothly.

Job Purpose:

Maintain and repair production machinery to high standards, ensuring minimal interruptions and breakdowns.
Maintain comprehensive maintenance and service records.
Devise, fabricate, and install improvements to production machines.

Responsibilities:

Perform planned maintenance on plant and equipment.
Respond to production machine breakdowns.
Install and relocate production equipment.
Specify and order spare parts.
Complete maintenance records and required paperwork.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Conduct mechanical and pneumatic fault finding.
Record daily activities and liaise with other departments.

Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to read mechanical drawings.
Strong mechanical skills, with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Electrical knowledge preferred but not essential.
Experience in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment.
City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.

Good communicator with a strong work ethic.
Flexible, able to prioritize effectively and adapt to variable workloads.
Punctual, presentable, and with good attendance.
Experience working in fast-paced environments, able to manage time effectively and multitask.

Work Hours:

40 hours per week, rotating shifts including early, afternoon, and night shifts.
