Our Client, Urenco; trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for 3 Maintenance Planners on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester. In this contract position, you will be responsible for the safe and effective planning of all plant maintenance tasks. The primary responsibility is to produce Written Schemes of Maintenance that define a safe and efficient methodology for all maintenance tasks, this includes day-to-day routines, break down maintenance and major shutdown events. There will be a significant amount of interaction required between various departments within UCP and sitewide. Rate: £40 Umbrella (Inside IR35) The Maintenance Planner will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our UF6 deconversion facility by overseeing the planning and scheduling of mechanical, electrical, and instrument maintenance activities. Working within a highly regulated environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day asset management, shutdown management, project delivery, and providing technical expertise. The role involves creating detailed job plans, task risk assessments, and method statements to ensure safe and effective maintenance execution. The planner will also be required to validate and update plans by performing audits of task execution and ensuring that all necessary materials and resources are sourced and scheduled efficiently. The role will require frequent interaction with internal stakeholders such as the Engineering, Operations, and SHE departments as well as external stakeholders including the ONR, UUK Licensee, contractors, and suppliers. The Maintenance Planner must demonstrate compliance with nuclear site licence conditions and national regulations and be adept at solving complex technical issues, particularly during peak workloads such as shutdown periods. Experience Needed

  • Time-served mechanical or CEI technician with hands-on experience in a chemical/process plant.
  • Familiarity with the maintenance of typical process equipment (pumps, valves, vessels, piping systems, instrument and control systems).
  • Experience of planning maintenance activities using a CMMS/EAM package (preferably SAP with Prometheus).
  • Knowledge of scheduling maintenance tasks/projects in a Gantt chart format/CMMS.
  • Proficient in Risk Assessment methodology and in writing work instructions/job plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in managing peak workloads and technical issues.
  • Ability to conduct site visits to determine job scope, methods, and resource requirements.
  • Competence in interfacing with third-party web-based data systems.
