gap technical is proud to represent an industry-leading and well-established manufacturing business in their search for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Engineering Projects
  • Perform planned and proactive maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Respond effectively to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Conduct routine inspections on utilities and service equipment to maintain operational standards.
  • Support the implementation and commissioning of project activities, including Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Assist with plant and equipment installation, upgrades, and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Engage with Lean manufacturing practices to enhance production efficiency.
  • Ensure all tasks align with engineering best practices and company standards.
Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Follow all technical, food safety, and GMP procedures.
  • Comply with company policies and industry regulations to maintain legal and safety standards.
  • Work safely within the Permit to Work system.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Engineer - Minimum NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 (Apprenticeship-trained preferred).
  • Experience in a Food/FMCG manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proactive approach to fault-finding and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and manuals.
  • Positive attitude towards learning, development, and supporting team growth.
