gap technical is proud to represent an industry-leading and well-established manufacturing business in their search for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Engineering Projects- Perform planned and proactive maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
- Respond effectively to breakdowns, minimizing downtime and waste.
- Conduct routine inspections on utilities and service equipment to maintain operational standards.
- Support the implementation and commissioning of project activities, including Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Assist with plant and equipment installation, upgrades, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Engage with Lean manufacturing practices to enhance production efficiency.
- Ensure all tasks align with engineering best practices and company standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
- Follow all technical, food safety, and GMP procedures.
- Comply with company policies and industry regulations to maintain legal and safety standards.
- Work safely within the Permit to Work system.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
- Qualified Engineer - Minimum NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 (Apprenticeship-trained preferred).
- Experience in a Food/FMCG manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Proactive approach to fault-finding and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and manuals.
- Positive attitude towards learning, development, and supporting team growth.
