About the RoleThe company is looking for a Bespoke Design Engineer to lead the design and development of customised solutions across its product range. This role involves handling a variety of projects, such as integrating specialised equipment, designing furniture, and making structural modifications. It may also include occasional chassis modifications or new chassis designs.The role entails creating 2D concepts following consultations with customers or distributors, ensuring designs align with expectations. Responsibilities include research, cost estimation, and providing finalised quotations and specifications for client sign-off. The next steps involve generating 3D models, building Bills of Materials, and addressing all engineering requirements, including compliance with electrical and gas system standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to meet client specifications.
- Ensure 3D Models and Drawings are optimised for manufacturing processes.
- Act as the primary contact for bespoke project enquiries.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation.
- Provide timely and precise cost estimates and quotations.
- Work closely with Sales, Customers, Distributors, and Production Teams.
Candidate Profile:
- A motivated individual with a "Can-Do" attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
- A flexible, enthusiastic, and hands-on team player with problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach and a strong sense of urgency to meet targets.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Practical understanding of assembly processes, materials, furniture, and electrical and gas systems.
- Experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD Software and generating Engineering Drawings.
- Willingness to travel between sites to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD Software during the interview process.
- Extensive experience in creating drawings from 3D models, demonstrable at the interview.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM System and Bills of Materials is desirable.
