Rigging and Lifting Equipment Engineer / LOLER Inspection Service Technican who has good rigging equipment assessment and maintenance skills with experience servicing and maintaining a range of lifting and rigging equipment is required by a well-established and specialist company based in near Chester.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

You will need industry experience repairing, servicing and carryout maintenance inspections for a range of rigging and lifting equipment such as Electric and Manual Chain / Wire Hoists / Slings and other similar lifting equipment.

ADDITIONAL LOLER TRAINING PROVIDED

Providing you have the industry experience the company will provide LOLER formal training, which will allow you to carry out your duties to a high standard.

SALARY: £27,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

PLEASE NOTE: You will need a Full Driving Licence with the flexibility to travel to sites when needed (currently youll spend on average 75% of your time in the main office in Chester with the remaining 25% on client sites Travel can be UK wide with overnight stays)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Rigging and Lifting Equipment Engineer / LOLER Inspection Service Technican who has good rigging equipment assessment and maintenance skills with experience servicing and maintaining a range of lifting and rigging equipment.

Once fully trained as the Rigging and Lifting Equipment Engineer / LOLER Inspection Service Technican you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive statutory inspections, detailed assessments, and accurate certifications of a wide range of rigging and lifting equipment used in venues ranging from arenas to production companies, TV studios to theatre houses, and education facilities across the UK. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential defects, assessing their significance, and delivering clear, actionable reports through the companys bespoke reporting software to maintain the highest standards of operational safety and legal compliance.

This role as the Rigging and Lifting Equipment Engineer / LOLER Inspection Service Technican extends beyond inspection, requiring proactive collaboration with trusted supply chain partners. You will play a key part in communicating repair requirements effectively, sourcing compliant replacement parts, and diligently overseeing the timely and safe execution of all necessary maintenance work. By building strong relationships with suppliers, you will ensure that any identified equipment deficiencies are rectified efficiently, minimising operational downtime and upholding the companys commitment to safety and operational readiness for all rigging and lifting operations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • LOLER Inspection and Certification skills (desirable) Additional training provided for the right candidate
  • Rigging Equipment Knowledge / Assessment and Maintenance skills
  • Knowledge of UK and European supply chains for rigging equipment (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in the entertainment or events industry is a plus
  • Certification in related fields such as rigging or equipment maintenance (desirable)
  • Must have a Full Driving Licence
  • Must be flexible to travel UK wide with overnight stays when required
