Stress EngineerChester 6-9 month Certain Advantage are working for a for a globally known company within Aerospace. They are actively seeking a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Engineer. Ideally with signatory status at approval levelYou will be working within the Analysis team. The position requires working cross-programme (SA, LR & A350) within the Chester plant Engineering team situated on the Chester site.Due to the nature of the industry, you will have:Minimum of 5 years' experience working within the aerospace industry with an in-depth knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance principles and their application within an aircraft structural environment.You will be liasing with the task leaders, some based outside the UK, Static Stress and Design engineers, ensure that the F&DT analyses performed are appropriate and that all relevant implications have been considered. You will be expected to work in an independent and proactive manner, offering constructive input to any situation.Experience required to apply:A robust understanding of the nature of any task with the ability to analyse and independently solve technical problems.

  • An understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for fatigue and crack growth and an ability to develop these methods would be a bonus.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience of delivering certification activities.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace/Aviation policies, methods, data and tools to ensure that all analysis conforms to relevant airworthiness requirements.
  • Flexibility and dedication to ensure timely completion of critical activities.
  • High regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle.
  • Experience of PC and mainframe computer systems and good knowledge of the application of FE analysis
  • Ability to use F&DT tools (ISAMI or equivalent)
