Programme Opportunities

The Urenco Careers Returner Programme is welcoming of individuals wishing to re-enter a technical environment. You will have either a background in, or a passion for, any one of the following:

  • Plant operations and / or process facilities
  • Project management in an engineering discipline or highly regulated sector
  • HSSE and nuclear safety case
  • Health physics and radiation protection
  • Systems integration engineering
  • Buying and procurement

Who are we looking for?

  • You will be an experienced professional who has had a career break of 18 months or more (as of June 2025).
  • During your career break you may have been working around other commitments or have undertaken projects.
  • An interest in returning to or transferring into the clean energy sector.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and attain BPSS level security clearance.
  • You will demonstrate some of key behaviours in being process driven, safety conscious and collaborative.

What can you expect from the programme?

  • A 6-month paid employment opportunity with the aim of a permanent role at the end of the programme
  • Specialised return to work coaching from Career Returners to support your transition back into the workplace
  • You’ll be joining a cohort of other returners giving you the opportunity to be part of a supportive peer group of like-minded individuals
  • A buddy to assist you in learning the ropes
  • A mentor to help you navigate your return
  • Access to a suite of training and learning opportunities
  • An opportunity to revamp your skills, gain new experiences and grow your network
