Adaptable recruitment is working with a growing Practice in Chester who is looking to recruit a Payroll / Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis . The successful candidate will assist with payroll processing, general accounting tasks, and administrative duties. You will work closely with senior staff and clients to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.

Payroll Responsibilities:
  • Assist in processing payroll for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Maintain employee records, including tax codes, deductions, and holiday allowances.
  • Input and verify timesheets, overtime, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Respond to payroll queries from clients and employees promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with generating payslips, RTI submissions, and year-end procedures (e.g., P60s, P45s).
Accounts Responsibilities:
  • Support bookkeeping tasks, including data entry of invoices, receipts, and expenses.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Help maintain accurate financial records for clients using accounting software.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate and organized files and records.
  • Assist with general office administration and ad hoc tasks as required.
