Job Title: Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)Location: West Cheshire (Remote or On-site options available)Salary: £32ph LtdReports to: West Cheshire Team ManagerAccountable to: Clinical Service Manager

Job Summary:As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), you will play a critical role in our multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team. You will conduct mental health assessments, provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and create care plans for young people experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. This includes supporting individuals following self-harm incidents and coordinating follow-up care after hospital discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Deliver cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based interventions to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop tailored care plans.
  • Provide both individual and group therapy, involving carers and family members as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, referrers, and service users.
  • Maintain high clinical standards by adhering to ethical guidelines and confidentiality protocols.

Training and Supervision:

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision.
  • Supervise and mentor trainees or other staff as needed.
  • Contribute to internal and external training initiatives to promote professional growth.

Policy and Service Development:

  • Support waiting list management and service improvements in collaboration with leadership.
  • Assist in developing policies and protocols for the team.

Research and Development:

  • Utilise research and evidence-based practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Participate in audits, evaluations, and other service improvement projects.

Professional Development and Compliance:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and mental health policies.
  • Adhere to professional codes of practice and the Trust's standards for clinical record keeping and data management.

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in nursing, social care, or psychology.
  • Certification in CBT accredited by BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies).

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in psychological assessment and CBT interventions.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
  • Proven experience in risk management and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in teaching, supervision, and research.
  • Knowledge of physical health and PTSD in the context of mental health care.
