Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English Literature lessons to students at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for literature and critical thinking
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Prepare students for exams, offering tailored guidance and encouragement
  • Work closely with colleagues in the department to share resources and best practices
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school's community

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in English Literature or a related field
  • Experience teaching English Literature at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 (desired, but not essential)
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
  • A passion for English Literature and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
