We are looking to recruit a Resettlement Officer on an ongoing, temporary basis on behalf of our well-established Social Housing client who provide supported housing accommodation to vulnerable individuals facing homelessness in the Chester area.

You will be based at the service close to the City Centre, working 36 hours per week on a set-rota (Weds, Fri and Sundays - 7am to 8pm)Your new role

  • Processing referrals into the service, undertaking assessments of need & risk and co-creating support plans with each service user with motivating outcomes
  • Signposting and referring to external services to support potential barriers to housing/employment such as mental health, debt, substance and/or alcohol misuse
  • Providing practical help with budgeting, life skills, nutrition and applying for benefits as necessary
  • Ensuring void properties are turned around quickly to re-let in order to maximise rental income
  • Managing challenging and anti-social behaviour on site, ensuring customers adhere to conditions of their tenancy & house rules, enforcing where appropriate
  • Ensure all compliance regarding health & safety is met, conducting room inspections, routine fire safety checks and periodic health & safety checks
  • Attend relevant multi-agency meetings and work in partnership with housing providers, Local Authority, community groups, charities and emergency services if required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 6 months experience within a supported housing setting ideally working with individuals facing homelessness
  • Experience of completing assessments of need/risk and co-creating support plans with a focus on tenancy sustainment & independent living
  • Understanding of current housing & homelessness legislation, the welfare benefits system and Property Pool Plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience and flexibility
