We're looking to recruit a Scheme Manager in Chester to support our Social Housing client on an ongoing, temporary basis, working 35 hours per week based at one of their Independent Living Schemes (55+) with hourly rates up to £16.50ph.

Your new role

  • Supporting residents to remain living independently as possible, encouraging involvement in scheme and community activities
  • Morning calls to vulnerable residents on scheme
  • Assist with lettings, viewings and inductions - ensuring residents know how to operate communal facilities
  • Reviewing and updating risk assessments/support plan
  • Completing referrals for aids and adaptation
  • Offer low level advice and guidance in relation to arrears, housing benefit and mental health - signposting to external agencies where appropriate
  • Complete routine health & safety checks and scheme inspections, including fire alarm/door testing and legionella
  • Assisting with reporting repairs and liaising with maintenance/contractor teams to follow up on completed work
  • Responding to enquiries from customers, family members or stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 12 months experience of working in housing with older or vulnerable people
  • Experience of completing assessments, developing support plans and managing a caseload
  • Knowledge and understanding of the welfare/housing benefit system
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding practices & procedure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident lone worker and the ability to work on your own initiative
