Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for work in Cheshire?

Winner Education are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work with a school who provide independent special educational needs placements. This role is a full-time temp to perm position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience within SEN support, and you must enjoy working with children you support and strive to ensure each child can achieve their true potential.

LOCATION: Cheshire

HOURS: Full time (Monday – Friday),

START DATE: ASAP

Salary: Varied dependant on experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

? Knowledge of school's policies for the curriculum and assessment.

? Knowledge of intervention strategies to support pupils with English and Maths difficulties.

? Understand the most effective way in which to support learning for a given task.

? Understand the needs of pupil/s with whom they are working with.

? Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupils' learning objectives.

? Discuss expected outcomes with teacher and agree upon success criteria.

? Provide feedback for teacher on outcomes of learning activity. Support pupils during learning activities:

? Supervise pupils with SEND, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented.

? Assist pupils with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.

? Provide support for learning activities

? Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.

? Provide opportunities for developing independence.

? Promote independent learning.

? Record pupil progress using the school's assessment recording systems.

? Under the guidance of teaching staff, provide feedback to pupils about their progress, achievements and any problems that may have arisen.

? Prepare, maintain and use learning resources and assist pupils to use them.

? Provide support with learning tasks.

? Feedback to the teacher on progress made.

? Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own learning and promoting development of self-esteem.

? Promote school policies on pupil behaviour.

? Implement Proact Script training in day-to-day practice.

? Support implementation of strategies to manage behaviour.

? Use strategies for positive behaviour support and report any problems to the teacher.

? Report any progress towards targets for students.

? Contribute towards Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

? Support pupils in developing appropriate relationships.

? Help to develop self-esteem of pupils.

? Along with other members of the team, help to resolve difficulties between pupils amicably and with regard to school policies.

? Promote good behaviour and encourage pupils to take accountability for their actions.

? Employ strategies agreed by school, e.g. use of rewards system and praise.

? Knowledge of the range of equipment available in school and where to find them.

? Support the pupils with computer technology to access learning activities and assist them to develop competent usage. Liaison with other team members and parents in a professional manner:

? Interacting appropriately and professionally with teachers and other colleagues and parents/carers.

? Pass on concerns about pupils to relevant people in the school.
