Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor for a Secondary school in Chester who will be responsible for supervising small classes in the absence of a regular teaching staff. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of the school and maintaining a productive learning environment and consistency for SEND students.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, and ensure that students remain on task. You will manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, provide support and assistance to students where necessary, ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students, and report back to the regular teacher on the progress of the class.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with children or young people is desirable. You should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage a classroom environment effectively, a high level of organisational skills, and the ability to multitask. A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the school are crucial. While relevant qualifications are an advantage, we value and prioritise experience.
