Learning Mentor - Join Our Supportive Team at a Leading SEN School in Chester!

Location: ChesterPosition: Full-Time Learning Mentor

I am working on behhalf of a caring and dynamic SEN school in Chester, dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are looking for a passionate and committed Learning Mentor to join our team and help our students achieve their full potential.

About the Role:As a Learning Mentor, you will provide essential support to students with a range of additional learning needs. You will work closely with both students and teachers to help build confidence, improve behaviour, and develop key skills. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that each child receives the personalized attention and encouragement they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Help students develop essential life skills, social skills, and emotional resilience.
  • Support students in managing behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
  • Assist in creating tailored learning plans and help students achieve their individual goals.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor progress and adjust support as necessary.
  • Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal growth.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • An understanding of various SEN needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities).
  • A commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students.
  • Previous experience as a Learning Mentor or in a similar support role is desirable, but not essential.
