If the answer is yes and you’re on the hunt for a new role, we’re looking for a Technical Author based out of the Chester site for one of our clients, a lovely engineering company who boast a high profile customer base, a company with growth plans.

Working together with the wider engineering team, you’ll be responsible for looking after all the technical manuals and specifications for projects.

Eye for detail, IT proficiency and a high degree of organisation are all essential skills for this role.

  • Salary is negotiable, but in the region of c£40k

About the Job

  • As the Technical Author you’ll have the responsibility for ensuring that all documentation is collated, modified and stored
  • You’ll need to plan the document structure and content
  • Work with the projects team to obtain specifications
  • Deliver Technical Manuals for Engineering Governance to agree on company and customer accepted quality standards
  • Looking at drawings and manipulate as needed for document creation
  • You’ll need to gather information from outside suppliers and look at project databases and registers for source data
  • Order consumables for the production of Technical Manuals.

About You

  • You’ll have previous experience as a Technical Author or similar role involving production of technical documentation.
  • Good level of awareness / knowledge of engineering disciplines
  • Proficient with MS office
  • Whilst this role is based at their site in Chester, there will be times where travel to the Head Office in Rochdale will be required.
