Job Opportunity: Assembly Engineer Chesterfield £25,000 - £30,000 About the Role An exciting opportunity is available to join a leading provider of test and measurement solutions for high-tech manufacturers. As an Assembly Engineer, you will work closely with the Production Team and report directly to the Production Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and works orders, as well as handling service and warranty requests. You will be involved in assembling and testing high-quality products using both off-the-shelf components and custom parts from suppliers. This position offers the chance to work on a variety of bespoke products and test equipment. We are seeking a candidate with experience in similar roles, who is self-motivated and passionate about quality engineering and assembly. Key Responsibilities

  • Follow established production processes and quality controls.
  • Assemble various electrical components, including control panels, cabinets, cable harnesses, and breakout boxes.
  • Work from technical drawings and provide feedback on potential errors or improvements.
  • Inspect assembled products to ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report any issues to the line manager.
  • Contribute to the team's success by utilizing your skills and experience as needed.


Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in an industrial or engineering setting.
  • Strong ability to assemble and inspect products to a high standard.
  • Experience with complex electrical tasks, including wiring and soldering.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently, when necessary, while also being an effective team player.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly with Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary production team.
  • A positive, motivated approach with a strong work ethic.


Desirable Qualifications

  • Background in test and automation.
  • IPC620 & J-STD-001 certification.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defence industry.
  • Proven expertise in bespoke test equipment.
  • Experience with electrical testing.
  • Familiarity with PCB assembly.
