About the Role:
We are working with a leading company in a highly regulated industry, based in Chesterfield, to find an experienced Quality Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in maintaining high-quality standards and meeting tight regulatory requirements.
As the Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting quality processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and driving improvements within the production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Assist with the development and execution of quality audits, ensuring that both internal and external audits are successfully passed with minimal findings.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality challenges and optimize production processes.
- Drive continuous improvement activities using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to improve quality and efficiency in the production environment.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics, including defect rates and customer satisfaction, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that all quality documentation, such as inspection reports, test results, and certifications, is accurate and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and validation of new processes, ensuring that they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar quality role within a highly regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, including AS9100, IATF16949, and ISO13485.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action techniques.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, CAPA, and others.
- Hands-on experience with quality inspections and testing procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Lean or Six Sigma certifications (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
