The Role

The newly merged Chesterfield Leeds business requires a Sales Director who will be responsible for leading and managing the sales function.  This includes overseeing the development and execution of sales strategies, building and nurturing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth in a competitive market. The Sales Director will work closely with key internal teams, including production, design, marketing, and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corrugated packaging sales and an in-depth understanding of the industry.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities :

  • Member of the Senior Management Team
  • Sales Management Experience: Proven experience in managing and leading a sales team, including training, motivating, and coaching team members to achieve sales targets.  Leading by example, fostering a high-performance sales culture, and cultivating a collaborative, supportive environment.
  • Target-Oriented: A results-driven approach, with a focus on meeting revenue targets and profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate large contracts with key clients ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, understanding their specific needs, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address client issues and find creative solutions, especially in cases of product quality concerns or supply chain disruptions.
  • Excellent Communication: Clear and persuasive communication skills to articulate the value proposition of corrugated packaging solutions to potential and existing customers.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to present to all clients, company leadership, and large audiences in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Effective communicator to influence various stakeholders and able to effectively bridge the gap between customer demands and operational capabilities
  • Proficient in CRM software, data analytics and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

      Good working knowledge of company finance.

  • Ideally educated to Degree or Professional diploma level with a general technical knowledge of the printing / packaging / corrugated sector
