Project Supervisor / Site Supervisor / Site Technician 

Situation

The Civils & Infrastructure Team at Ford & Stanley is excited to be partnered with a civil and structural engineering consultancy that specialise in delivering structural investigations, inspections,  testing, and asset management services across a variety of sectors.

Operating on projects throughout England, Scotland, and Wales, they are on the lookout for dynamic site-based professionals at all levels to join them.

Each role offers a unique opportunity to engage in technical tasks and investigations, working alongside expert surveying specialists.

Opportunity

Thanks to significant growth within their Buildings Team, our client is seeking to hire surveying professionals at various levels, from entry-level Site Technicians to Project Managers. Full training will be given on how to conduct the required works, but a solid understanding of building fabric, general construction, or civil/structural engineering is required.

These roles will focus on building-based structural inspections, investigations, and testing.

This will be a varied role, allowing you to work on a wide range of projects and buildings, e.g., residential, commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare-based premises. There could also be cross-over with other areas of the wider group meaning you will be exposed to different sector areas such as Rail & Highways.

With a strong pipeline of varied projects, successful candidates can expect each week to look different. You will work with some of the industry’s most up-to-date equipment and software and utilise your technical mindset and experience to conduct bespoke survey work for your clients and consult with them accordingly.

They offer defined routes for progression and will set individual targets to ensure your continual development, whether that is upskilling you technically, obtaining additional competencies & qualifications, or transitioning you to a more operationally focused role.

Location

  • Candidates must be a commutable distance from their Chesterfield and Ilkeston offices.
  • Clients/projects are based Nationwide. This role will require working away from home throughout the week including occasional overnight stays.

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £45,000 salary - dependent on the role and level of experience
  • Overtime available (1.25x – 2.0x, dependent on day/time)

Criteria to interview

  • Solid understanding of building fabric/building surveying. (Essential)
  • Candidates must have site-based surveying experience within a construction/engineering environment. (Essential)
  • Qualifications based around Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or General Construction would be highly beneficial
  • Full UK driving license & happy with nationwide travel. (Desirable)
  • Relevant site tickets e.g., CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aider, IPAF/PASMA. (Desirable)
  • Numerical and literacy skills. (Essential)
  • Ability to work away from home during the week if required. (Essential)
