Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Location: North Chesterfield Primary School Contract Type: Part-Time (Monday to Wednesday)Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a small, well-managed primary school in North Chesterfield. This part-time role is ideal for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual who has experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly in Key Stage 1 or lower Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for two Year 1 children with additional needs.

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child.

  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring both children are engaged and supported in their learning.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school setting is essential.

  • Ideally, experience supporting Key Stage 1 children (or lower Key Stage 2).

  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting children.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a well-established team.

  • A relevant qualification in childcare or education (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
