Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - North Chesterfield Primary School

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a North Chesterfield primary school. This is a full-time, fixed-term role working on a 1:1 basis with a child with additional needs in a Year 6 classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to a child with additional needs, ensuring they can access all areas of the curriculum.
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities in the classroom.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in the breakout area.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the child's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support the child's progress.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with additional needs in a school setting.
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Available full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
