Teaching Assistant (SEND) - North Chesterfield

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our school in North Chesterfield, working within our SEND unit. This role supports Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 1 to 6) with special educational needs, including ASD and behavioural difficulties.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: 6th January 2025
  • Contract: Fixed-term until July 2025
  • Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them thrive in both academic and social settings.
  • Demonstrating a professional, kind, and patient demeanour when working with children.
  • Providing individual and group support for children with SEND.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and managing the classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND.
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach, especially with children with ASD and behavioural challenges.
  • Knowledge of Team Teach is beneficial, but not essential.
