Sewell Wallis are pleased to partner with a fast-growing, forward thinking Manufacturing SME based in Chesterfield, who are looking to secure a Commercial Finance Director who has experience with planning, strategy and promoting growth in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for a candidate who enjoys influencing company decisions, is commercially minded, isn't afraid to get stuck in, think innovatively and push a business forward.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for driving business growth through acquisitions both in the UK and overseas.
  • Lead business planning and forecasting, including due diligence for growth initiatives.
  • Build and optimise finance and back-office functions, balancing cost and affordability.
  • Use advanced analytics and data-driven insights to support forecasting, reporting, and strategic decision-making
  • Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring protection against market fluctuations and operational uncertainties.
  • Partner with other departments to align financial objectives with broader business goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of management and statutory accounts.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Ideally ACA qualified (although will consider ACCA and CIMA for the correct candidate).
  • Experience with PE backed businesses.
  • M&A experience, confident with seeing them through from start (both UK and overseas).
  • Experience working for a fast-growing SME within the Manufacturing industry.
  • A background within Big 4 or Corporate Finance would be desirable.
