Job Summary:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Truck (FLT) Driver to join their night shift team in Chesterfield. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in their current role and must be computer literate. This position requires a dedicated professional who can efficiently handle the responsibilities of operating a forklift truck in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Ensure accurate and timely picking and packing of orders.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) and other computer applications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in stock control and cycle counting.
- Collaborate with the night shift team to meet production and operational targets.
- Perform general warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an FLT driver in a similar role.
- Valid forklift truck license/certification.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional overtime when needed.
Desirable Attributes:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
