Our Client:
A prestigious luxury house builder is seeking a skilled and motivated Adoptions Engineer to join their team. This role offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to work with a leading name in the industry.

Key Purpose of Role:
The primary responsibility of the Adoptions Engineer is to ensure that all Estate Completion infrastructure works are completed within the pre-set budget. This is crucial for the release of the companys bonds and maintenance liabilities concerning highways, sewers, pumping stations, and public open spaces, facilitating public adoption by the relevant authority.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review legal agreements with the legal team, including section agreements, deed of easements, and utility provisions.
  • Actively participate in pre-start meetings, monthly site meetings, and other progress review meetings, providing constructive feedback.
  • Appoint and oversee contractors for small works, ensuring all works meet Local Authority Standards.
  • Conduct site inspections at the end of maintenance periods, specifying required works for public adoption.
  • Monitor and manage adoption agreements (Section 38, 104, & 278 Agreements) and ensure timely bond reductions and cancellations.
  • Ensure all drainage and Suds agreements with water authorities are completed on time.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, Inspectors, Clerk of Works, Bondsman, Solicitors, and Management Companies.
  • Resolve issues on completed sites, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and minimizing company liability.
  • Monitor expenditure to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Provide engineering support to Engineering Managers and Contract Managers.
  • Produce monthly reports and budget forecasts for the regional board of directors.
  • Commission and review road safety audits, ROSPA reports, GIs, and as-built surveys.
  • Review engineering designs for cost-effectiveness and buildability.
  • Log and monitor geotechnical testing and material records.
  • Arrange and chair on-site pre-start meetings with inspectors for sewers and highways.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of infrastructure works and write progress reports.
  • Chair and minute monthly internal adoption meetings.
  • Coordinate utility inspections prior to surfacing.
  • Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure timely surfacing and completion works.
  • Monitor and complete surfacing schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Continuously seek improvements to the HR service provided, contributing to organizational goals and enhancing the company's reputation.

Skills/Personal Specification:

  • OND/HND qualification (or similar) in Building Studies/Construction/Engineering.
  • Proficiency in IT, including AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, and Word (desirable).
  • Proven track record in residential development/contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of road and sewer construction, utility company procedures, and the legislative framework.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC requirements, and Codes of Practice.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving and delegation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Mathematics.
  • High degree of self-motivation and drive.
