Lifestyle / Care Assistant for a Young Disabled Adult

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a lady with Cerebral palsy who is living in Chesterfield. They are looking for a like-minded person to join their care team and assist them in daily living whilst studying. Join their team of PAs who provide their personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult’s life.

Start: August 12th 2024

Rota: 7 days on / 7 days off

Location: Chesterfield (S43)

Pay: £140 per day = £980 per week

Free accommodation whilst on shift

Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

An Automatic UK Driving licence is required for this position

About the Job

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About our Client

Our client has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. She is starting in Derbyshire Constabulary in September.

With a happy and positive demeanour as well as a good sense of humour, our client enjoys spending time with her boyfriend (who lives with her) and playing with her dogs. Other interests include watching TV/documentaries, getting lost in a good book and playing games on her PC. She has a very open mind and is always up for a philosophical debate. She is often described as easy going and goes with the flow.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be a dog lover - Our client has 2 small/medium dogs

  • A full clean UK driving licence - must be comfortable driving an automatic

  • To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative

  • A mature and responsible attitude

  • To be confident and comfortable supporting someone with personal care

  • Comfortable in your own company and be able to occupy yourself when not needed by the client.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Non-smoker

  • Clean and respectful of the client's home and personal space.
