Are you an experienced teaching assistant seeking a new challenge in education? Long term futures are currently looking for a new AP teaching assistant to help one of our client alternative provisions in Chesterfield.

As a teaching assistant in a specialist school, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of students who face various challenges, including social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, adapting your teaching methods to meet individual needs and promoting engagement through innovative and creative approaches.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Working side by side with the teacher to provide an alternative approach that is also stimulating for students with SEN needs including ASD & ADHD
Setting targets for students and monitoring progress,
Ensuring every student can access and reach their fullest potential
Helping students through any issues they have and coming to an appropriate solution

The Ideal Candidate:

Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
Has an outgoing, nurturing personality.
Looking to start a career in education.
Willingness to support SEMH learners.
A reliable, friendly face to the children and staff.

To Be Eligible for This Role You Must:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
