Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a flair for classroom management and strong behaviour management? Long-term futures are proudly working with an Ofsted GOOD alternative provision academy based in Chesterfield (S41).

This provision provides programmes of education to pupils identified as being at risk of exclusion, or who have already been excluded from mainstream education. In this role, you will meet the varied and complex needs of children in all key stages up to KS4.

Due to the location of this role, you must have a driving license with access to your own vehicle as public transport is not reliable.

What does my role entail?

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff. Classes are small, approx. 10 pupils per group.
  • Supporting and re-engaging young people who are at risk of, or who have been excluded from mainstream education.
  • Enable pupils to re-integrate into mainstream, further education or employment.

What do I need to be successful?

  • You will be a strong role model for young learners
  • You will need to have prior classroom experience, ideally within an alternative provision, or similar environment
  • You will be resilient and have a flair for behaviour management, keeping disengaged pupils motivated and enthused to succeed.
