HR Business Partner£50,000-£60,000Chesterfield - onsite full timeAre you an operational HR Business Partner/Manager looking for a challenge?

Have you always wanted to join an organisation and set up a HR function?I am working with a successful SME manufacturing business to appoint their first ever HR BP. With c110 employees across 4 sites, this role will be introducing HR to a business that are looking to modernise their ways of working. This role is reporting into the Managing Director who is incredibly passionate about the business. They have already set up company values and have started to coach line managers on Return to Work processes and disciplinary processes. The Head of Finance has also designed an onboarding process and is doing what they can to help the business be more innovative in their people management approach, but they are now ready to invest in a specialist to keep driving the HR agenda forward. When I say there is huge amounts of value you can add here, I mean it! This organisation is part of a much larger global group and have an Engagement survey delivered from group annually. However, they have never had anyone on site to take the outcomes from the survey and put them into action. Response rates are dropping because there is no one to properly deliver on the feedback, so there is so much you could get stuck into really quickly to make an impact! This is a standalone role, working closely with the SLT across the Chesterfield and Tipton sites. You will be expected to be onsite full time in Chesterfield and travel to their other sites across the West Mids and North East regularly. So, what's the role?

  • Intro HR to a traditionally focused business, working closely with the SLT to educate them on the impact and value HR can bring
  • Look after low volume employee relations cases on disciplinary, grievances, absence and performance issues
  • Deliver on generalist activity including, recruitment, talent, performance, engagement, reward etc.
  • Upskill, coach and influence managers and team leaders across the business on HR best practice
  • Manage the annual Engagement survey, collating outcomes and putting them into action!
  • Lead a digitalisation programme, uploading all paper based people files onto their HRIS
  • Work with the Chesterfield site on a culture transformation project to drive synergies between the great culture they have built at the Tipton site and increase engagement levels
  • Be the standalone HR support for all transactional and operational HR duties

This isn't a role for the faint hearted. This is going to require a HR professional with a thick skin that isn't afraid to get stuck into something that's a bit broken and put the time and patience in to fix it! There is so much value you can add here but it won't be an easy process. If you're up for the challenge and want to be a fundamental part of a business transformation, apply now!
