Job Title: Project Engineer Team LeaderLocation: Hybrid working (Client based in Barlborough, Chesterfield)Contract: Permanent Full TimeThe role of IT Project Engineer Team LeaderOur client, an IT support services provider for businesses, is looking for an IT Project. Team Leader. The primary focus of this role is to lead and manage the IT Delivery Team. This position would suit an IT engineer with experience in cloud infrastructure and Microsoft products. Responsibilities include managing projects, smaller implementations, client onsite visits, and onboarding new clients. Strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders is essential.

About YouThe ideal candidate should have a technical background and some experience in leading a small team. The Team Leader will oversee a team of six, managing workloads and removing obstacles to ensure tasks are completed efficiently. They will provide technical guidance, ensure customer satisfaction, and identify improvements through analysis and new technologies. Effective organisational skills, communication, and relationship-building are crucial for success in this role.Key Responsibilities:

  • provide an exceptional customer experience through effective project delivery within agreed cost, time, scope, quality, and security constraints
  • lead a small team by providing technical support and assistance
  • establish regular, clear, and consistent communication channels at all levels within the organisation while setting clear expectations throughout.
  • supervise the onboarding process for new clients by effectively utilising resources to collect the necessary technical information
  • ensure that client reporting is regular, accurate, and timely to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • execute high-level technical projects in collaboration with Project Engineers as needed
  • ensuring the ongoing enhancement of project management processes and practices is a key responsibility
  • provide monthly data on project pipeline and utilisation to aid in making informed business decisions

Skills required:

  • strong time management skills to effectively organise a team and its workload
  • ability to manage conflict and make informed decisions by analysing information and understanding its commercial impact
  • identifying potential challenges and creating solutions to ensure the project stays on track
  • effective communication is essential for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
  • good knowledge of Windows Server, Virtual environments including VMWare, SQL Server, entire Microsoft stack, Networking LAN, WAN VPN and Wireless, Active Directory, Antivirus and Microsoft Azure IaaS
  • ability to manage a diverse workload and work calmly under pressure while maintaining an organised and methodical approach to tasks, being flexible and open to change as projects evolve
  • a qualification in project/programme management such as Prince 2 or APM is desirable but not essential
