We are seeking a dedicated and proactive 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer to join a leading construction company who deliver innovative and sustainable infrastructure projects.  You will be joining a small and friendly team and be based at the company’s Head Office in Chesterfield.

As a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for hardware, software and mobile / tablet issues within the company. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, escalating more complex problems to the IT Manager and ensuring minimal disruption to their daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Supporting the IT Manager, you will be providing first-line support to employees for hardware and software issues and escalating where necessary. Managing the onboarding of new users and managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory. Responsible for installing, configuring, and updating software and hardware as required. Supporting users with Microsoft 365 (MS 0365) including Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams, as well as supporting applications on the Internet and Intranet. Troubleshooting hardware issues (PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices) and assisting with IT-related projects as required.

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in a 1 st /2 nd line support or helpdesk role.

Working knowledge of Active Directory (user management, group policy, etc.).

Experience supporting Windows 10 & 11 and Microsoft 365

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proactive attitude with a keen interest in learning new technologies
