Job Title: Shift Engineer

Location: Chesterfield

Salary: £41,200 per annum plus £5,000 shift allowance, 6% pension, private medical

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, rotating shifts: 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00

Our client is a global leader in warehouse automation and logistics solutions, committed to innovation and excellence, they are seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer to join their team in Chesterfield.

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical equipment within a warehouse environment. Reporting to the Site Manager/Supervisor, you will ensure the efficient operation of material handling equipment (MHE) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical strip-downs, re-assembly, basic field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing.

Conduct daily maintenance of site MHE to high standards.

Manage time effectively using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to achieve over 90% utilisation.

Identify and implement improvements for both new and existing equipment, adhering to health and safety protocols.

Complete reactive repairs within set timeframes.

Communicate repair and maintenance progress to on-site management professionally.

Service and repair installed products, demonstrating hands-on ownership to achieve swift resolutions.

Interpret electrical circuit diagrams and work with 415V motor controls.

Conduct risk assessments with a strong understanding of health and safety considerations.

Qualifications and Experience:

NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Understanding of Non-Destructive Testing technologies.

Knowledge of PLCs and their functions.

Beneficial knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
