The School and Role

This large primary school in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with a GOOD Ofsted rating is part of a Multi Academy Trust has a hard working and dedicated SLT. The appointed SENDCo will be working full time, you will:

  • Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
  • Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
  • Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development.
  • Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
  • Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources.
  • Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
  • Attend and review PEP meetings.

Requirements

The desired SENDCo will have;

-          Experience of working as SENDCo

-          Accredited SENDCo qualification

-          QTS

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND

-          A passion for the progress of primary school pupils

-          An ability to work as part of a team
