About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time Teacher to join our friendly and vibrant primary school in Chesterfield. This position is to cover maternity leave in our Year 2 class for one calendar year. You will be working with a lively and enthusiastic group of Year 2 children, supporting them with all aspects of the curriculum, particularly in phonics.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (ECT) to develop their skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating lessons across the curriculum, with a strong focus on phonics.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
  • Support children's learning and development, both academically and socially.
  • Assess, track, and report on the progress of pupils in accordance with school policies.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of phonics and its delivery in the classroom.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate children.
