Experienced Primary Intervention Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners facing barriers to education? We are looking for an experienced Primary Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our team and work with pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who are currently not in mainstream education due to a combination of behavioural and mental health challenges.

This is a permanent position which will initially be payrolled through Tradewind Recruitment before going onto direct contract with the school. The position is Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm daily. The is a term time only position, 39 weeks a year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with small groups of pupils, providing focused interventions in key subjects such as Maths, English, and Phonics.
  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome obstacles to learning.
  • Assist in the delivery of the primary curriculum, ensuring engagement and progress in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Collaborate closely with class teachers to deliver tailored interventions that meet the specific needs of each pupil.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH issues is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 primary curriculum is essential.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle as travel to local sites may be required.
