GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school located in Chesterfield. This full-time position is ideal for those who are enthusiastic about early learning and eager to assist pupils in reaching their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Primary TA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the classroom. Working closely with the class teacher, you will assist with delivering lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting pupils on both a group and individual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support during lessons, including literacy, numeracy, and creative subjects.
• Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
• Offer one-to-one or small-group interventions to reinforce learning concepts.
• Support children’s emotional and social development.
• Work closely with teaching staff to monitor and record pupil progress.
• Help maintain a safe and stimulating classroom environment.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
• A good understanding of the primary curriculum and child development.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting varied classroom needs.
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
