Inspire Resourcing are recruiting for a Senior Quality Inspector role in the Chesterfield area for a well-known engineering company in the Chesterfield area.

Responsibilities, duties, and tasks:

  • Lead the facility on all aspects of inspection.
  • Ensure consistent inspection methods and standards are met across the department.
  • Complete inspection of customer product to ensure it meets order requirements and standards utilising your experience and product knowledge.
  • Highlight any quality related issues or concerns using appropriate methods and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a plan for the introduction of in cycle inspection into production by offering leadership, guidance, training, and generation of work instruction (W.I.) as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate data capture within the area eg Javelin booking disciplines.
  • Monitor Quality data daily using the Power BI quality dashboard, and report issues to production team.
  • Where required, conduct investigations into customer complaints and NCRs
  • Ensure compliance with the company FAIR procedures.
  • All measurement equipment is calibrated and recorded in line with quality manual.
  • Accountable for the creation and implementation of QDAS
  • Use SPC data to drive improvements in our quality inspection processes.
  • Consult on new product introduction as required.
  • Build up the quality processes within the operational flow, embedding operator feature based measurement at point of manufacture.
  • Maintain EH&S standards in line with company policy.
  • Attend and participate in daily meetings as required, taking an active role.

Experience:

  • Strong background in manufacturing
  • Sound knowledge of inspection techniques and methods
  • Consistency in approach to inspection
  • Strong IT skills and experience, including MS Office, in particular Excel

Qualifications/ training:

  • General Engineering qualification BTEC/HNC

Hours and salary:

  • 37 hour working week
  • Regular days 
  • flexible start times
  • £35k-40k depending on experience
