Are you a qualified Maths Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a full-time Maths Teacher at a leading SEN school in Chesterfield, starting immediately. This position offers a dynamic and supportive environment for educators to make a meaningful impact on students' mathematical development.

About the Role:

As a Maths Teacher at this SEN school, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging maths lessons to students with a variety of learning needs. The role will involve using a creative approach to teach essential mathematical concepts, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities of the Maths Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality maths lessons to students with SEN, adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and encouraged.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and setting achievable targets.
  • Work closely with SENCOs and support staff to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Provide detailed lesson plans, marking, and reports as required.
  • Use a range of assessment methods and resources to support student learning.

Requirements of the Maths Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Prior experience in teaching or tutoring Mathematics, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • A strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and a passion for teaching, with a commitment to fostering academic excellence.
  • A valid UK driving licence and the ability to drive to the school location.
  • Passion for Mathematics and a commitment to delivering outstanding education.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
