Job Title: Secondary Science Teacher

Salary: £170 – £200 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time teaching opportunity, offering an immediate start for a qualified teacher ready to make a positive impact.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach up to Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will work closely with a collaborative Science department to promote a love of learning and foster academic progress in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons by the National Curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.
- Utilise practical experiments and contemporary scientific resources to enhance understanding.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including parents’ evenings and extracurricular activities.
Science Teacher requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Science.
- Experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
- A proven track record of raising student attainment and delivering outstanding lessons.
- Subject specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable, but a strong general Science background is essential.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- A valid UK driving licence and the ability to commute to school.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
