We are working in Partnership with a Specialist Alternative Provision who are looking to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assisitant in a challenging yet rewarding role. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide educational support and make a meaningful impact on students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and lead lesson plans and activities as a HLTA
  • Assist students with alternative learning methods.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students requiring additional help.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Provide opportunities for small group work, and individual support in addressing targets identified in ILPs and EHCP's

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally whose who have exhibted challenging and often complex needs, and behaviours that prevent them from attending a mainstream school
  • Ability to educate and engage students effectively, delivering academic work via 1:1 sessions with pupils
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour as well as the ability to think outside the box.
  • Full Driving License and access to a car (you may be required to transport pupils in your car on occasion), all milage expenses will be covered.
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
