About the RoleElevation Recruitment Group is thrilled to be partnering with a well-established chemical business based in Chesterfield, looking to add a skilled Transport Planner to their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated operation, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals across the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate delivery schedules, optimising routes for safe and timely delivery of chemical products.
  • Monitor and manage driver schedules in real-time, making adjustments to maintain service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and legal regulations specific to the transportation of hazardous materials.
  • Liaise closely with drivers, safety teams, and customer service to communicate any route changes or updates.
  • Address transport issues such as delays, breakdowns, or safety concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Analyse transport costs, efficiency, and safety compliance, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning role, ideally within a chemical delivery or hazardous materials environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail, especially regarding safety and compliance.
  • Familiarity with transport management systems and proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Knowledge of regulations and best practices for transporting chemicals safely.
  • Proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
